The Object of this Fraternity shall be for the development of the best and truest fraternal spirit; the mutual welfare and brotherhood of musical students; the advancement of music in America; and a loyalty to the Alma Mater.

Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia is an organization that provides opportunities for musicianship, service, leadership, and academic excellence. It is a brotherhood unlike any other, joined by a common love for music. It is music and good fellowship that draws all brothers together and allows them to grow individually and as a brotherhood. Phi Mu Alpha teaches men how to build high ideals and be a source inspiration for all whom they meet.

Through a variety of activities on the local, provincial, and national level, the fraternity seeks to guide students with a love for music along a path of personal achievement through fellowship with like-minded men. Above all else, Sinfonia is a social fraternity with the ultimate goal of enriching the life of every man that enters through its guarded doors. With the support of thousands of Sinfonians that have entered the organization in the past eleven decades, each brother is part of a proud tradition that seeks to ensure this experience for generations to come.
